How Chiropractic Can Help Sciatica

We've helped a lot of people in our Grants Pass office who are suffering from sciatica, and it's an ailment that can result in an extreme amount of distress and difficulties. The good news is that you don't have to endure this, because chiropractic care is an excellent way to get you out of pain.

The sciatic nerve is one of the largest nerves in your body, and runs from your spine, through your pelvis, and down the back of your leg. Because this crucial nerve flows through so many small spaces, it's vulnerable to being irritated or pinched.

Often sciatic pain develops in the lower back where the nerves leave the spinal column; at times the nerve can be irritated by the piriformis muscle in the pelvis.

One of the first things Dr. David Ray will do is perform a careful evaluation that will help pinpoint the actual root cause of your pain. This might not even be precisely where you're feeling symptoms, as the nerve can be pinched much higher up in your body than where you're experiencing the tingling or numbness.

Once we've identified the cause of your ailments, we'll be able to start working towards rebuilding the normal function of your spine and sciatic nerve. Removing restrictions or constriction on the nerve will then relieve the symptoms.
