Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and Auto Injuries
Thoracic outlet syndrome is experienced as numbness, prickling, pain or decreased blood flow in the shoulders, arms or hands. We see this sympom fairly often in auto injury patients who visit our Grants Pass office.
The thoracic outlet is a bottleneck through which a vital bundle of nerves and blood vessels travel between the head and arm. The space is narrow and trauma to the neck can cause swelling of the muscle tissue in the region, which can then compress the nerves and result in symptoms.
Because the neck is a very intricate area, it can be tricky to pinpoint the exact origin of your pain, and other conditions can imitate the symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome.
If you've been in a crash and have symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome, Dr. David Ray is here to help. We can help identify the underlying cause of your problem and formulate a comprehensive plan of action to help you reclaim your health. We have helped many people in Grants Pass improve from these sorts of injuries since 2011 and we might be able to help you, as well!
